My sculptures explore the place where the need for autonomy intersects with the desire to merge. I am interested in how perception of self influences the emotional relationship with surrounding environment, and how, in the age of limitless options, we are stretched thin as we try to embody so many dualized polarities. The work is built upon the thin membrane we create as a boundary between our constructed interior reality and the outside plane where we meet with others, and examines the ever-shifting relationships between nature and will, impulse and altruism, the toil toward ascension and simply existing with oneself.
